As the metals industry evolves, we are witnessing a rise in demand for special copper alloys with more strenuous requirements. To meet our customers’ needs, we’ve developed several aluminum bronze alloys with excellent mechanical properties. The first of these was developed by our founder, Dr. Shigeru Hagino, when he was with Mitsubishi Steel Manufacturing in the 1940s. His aluminum bronze would make a major impact in the industry over the next 70 years, and marked the start of Yamato Gokin’s history as a special copper alloy manufacturer.

For our aluminum bronze material, we have two manufacturing processes: extrusion and forging. Products manufactured using our extrusion process are melted, casted, hot extruded, heat treated, cut to specified size, turned, and non-destructive inspection tested (fluorescent penetrant inspection and ultrasonic testing (UT)).

Products manufactured using our forging process are melted, casted, hot forged, heat treated, cut to specified size, turned, and non-destructive inspection tested (fluorescent penetrant inspection and ultrasonic testing (UT)).

Aluminum Bronze Products

HRW-1
We have developed a special aluminum-bronze alloy, HRW-1, the only one of its kind on the market. HRW-1 (Patent NO. 18919342) has over 640MPa tensile strength, over 15% elongation, and over HBW180 hardness. Its characteristics include high mechanical strength and wear resistance, and it is best suited for small abrasion-movement parts or parts that must withstand heavy load.

HRW-3
HRW-3 is a wear-resistant aluminum copper alloy that has high hardness, over HBW270 (10/3000), which is higher than that of HRW1. This material is good for roll forming and roll finishing, as well as dies or molds for drawing purposes which require high hardness, anti-abrasion and smooth slippage.

Niko-Niko Grip
The touchless tool product is made of our high quality aluminum-bronze alloy that is certified by the JCDA (Japan Copper Development Association) as ultra-antibacterial. Our aluminum bronze alloy material was used for its strength and antibacterial properties, and the tool was developed to meet the need for touchless products due to global health crises. The hooked tool can be used to attach to straps, open lever-door handles, to touch touch-panel elevator buttons and vending machines, and to hook bags onto desks and other furniture.

This product can be bought through Hakudo Net Service or on Amazon Japan.

※ The maintenance subsidiary of All Nippon Airways in Japan, ANA-NECO, has been purchasing our bars and pipes of various sizes (50 sizes) for the past 15 years with no quality problems nor delivery delays. Fuji Heavy Industries has also been buying our products for the past 10 years with minimal to no customer complaint.
